how to lay edging

For greater stability, lay edging in mortar, although it can be laid directly into soil.

1. Excavate a trench for foundations using 6 parts all-in ballast to 1 part cement.

2. Lay the edging in mortar (3 to 4 parts building sand to 1 part cement) against the paving or lawn. Gently tap in, using spirit level across each edging.

3. Back fill the edging with mortar.
