The Mid-Summer Garden

Following the success of last year’s show garden, we once again asked designer David Domoney to create our themed garden – a soothing space that conjures up lazy English midsummer afternoons, just perfect for relaxing and entertaining outside. It is packed with inspiration and ideas that you can recreate at home.

 

A stately summerhouse with arched windows is the basis for a theme of arches throughout the garden, with containers, elegant furniture, and an arch-shaped patio in the centre of an emerald sculpted lawn.

 

Planted borders surround the lawn, with established shrubs providing structure, shape and texture, and a blue planting scheme reminiscent of summer skies. To enhance the sense of summer tranquility, David has embedded leaf waterfalls in the borders either side of the summerhouse for added animation and sound.
