It's a Bronze Medal for Bradstone at Chelsea
June 2005
The Bradstone Spring Garden has been awarded a bronze medal at
this year’s Chelsea Flower Show – Bradstone’s fifth Chelsea medal
in the past six years.
Designed by Chelsea veteran, Alan Sargent, and built by his son,
James Steele-Sargent, the fabulous garden incorporates 1,000 years
of planting including a number of 80 year old acers!
The garden groups mature, established species with more recent
specimens, demonstrating how mixing together old and new planting
proves to be a winning combination.
Alan says, “We’re absolutely delighted with the medal. The whole
team has worked so hard over the past few months to create this
garden and we’re thrilled that our efforts have been recognised by
the judges at the RHS. The show, as always, has been a phenomenal
success and we really do hope that the visitors to Chelsea enjoyed
viewing the garden as much as we did creating it.”
Paul Wagstaff, Marketing Manager for Bradstone, added, “We’ve
worked with Alan on many occasions and once again he has come up
with a stunning garden. I have a lot of respect for Alan and I’m
very pleased that he has got this medal to add to the other 60 he
has won over the last 23 years!”
