It's a Gold Medal for Bradstone at Chelsea!

May 2006

The ‘Walking Barefoot with Bradstone’ garden has been awarded a gold medal at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show!

The contemporary garden, designed by first time Chelsea designer Sarah Eberle took its inspiration from Lanzarote landscapes and the architects Antonio Gaudi and César Manrique.

The garden cleverly combines stunning hard landscaping with sensitive planting, as well as addressing environmental concerns through a water recycling system stored in the imposing wall, and the use of paving made from up to 85% reclaimed and recycled aggregates.

Sarah says, “As a first time Chelsea designer, it was a very proud moment. The medal is a great achievement and reflects the hard work and dedication expressed by the team in creating the ‘Walking Barefoot with Bradstone’ garden.

“Nothing compares to this accolade and it’s a great feeling to now see the huge numbers of visitors who share a passion for gardening and appreciate all the work that has gone in to creating, developing and building this design.”

Paul Wagstaff from Bradstone adds, “It has been a real experience working with Sarah and her truly unique design has been well rewarded by the RHS. Sarah has highlighted how contemporary hard landscaping sits so comfortably with stunning planting and has created a truly inspirational, spiritual and relaxing space.”
