Bradstone Goes Green for 2006
March 2006
With increasing pressure on businesses and consumers to think
green, Bradstone has introduced an environmentally friendly product
for 2006.
The revolutionary paving for the garden is produced using up to
85% recycled and reclaimed aggregates and achieves the high quality
finish expected from the company.
The product will carry an Old Town profile and will be available in
Conservation shade.
Latest research carried out by Bradstone has highlighted green
issues as a real area of concern for customers. This addition to
the range will satisfy the demand for ecologically sound paving and
create an appetite for more environmentally friendly products in
the future.
Marketing Manager for Bradstone, Paul Wagstaff, says, “The idea
for green paving has been around for a few years and we now feel
the time is right to launch the product.
“Attitudes to recycling and using recycled products have changed
considerably over the last five years. Consumers have become
familiar with thinking green and this is the next step in leading a
greener lifestyle.”
In addition, Bradstone is also adding an innovative sustainable
drainage system for the garden. This unique concept allows
surface water to be drained and reserved in channels underneath
hard landscaping. This water can then be used to water the garden
as required.
Paul continues, “This drainage system is already used in a
commercial setting and is proving very popular for providing a
solution to surplus surface water. Statistics show that in urban
areas 95% of rainfall is treated as surface water runoff, adding an
enormous burden to drainage systems. In rural areas this figure is
just 5%.
“This system provides a sensible solution for rainfall runoff in
city and town gardens, as well as giving garden users the
opportunity to reuse water.”
Bradstone has developed the natural look as one of its key
themes for the 2006 collection. Research has indicated the trend
has been driven by the professionals, but as more and more
consumers become aware of the product, it is expected to explode
onto the market. The natural look is favoured for its versatility
and its ability to hold its value.
The Natural Sandstone range has seen the introduction
of an Octagon feature kit in Fossil Buff plus Natural Sandstone
Stepping Stones. Offering an attractive alternative to standard
flagstones, the stepping stones create a pathway within lawned,
gravelled, or mulched areas.
Included in the range are the Natural
Sandstone Spheres. These multi-coloured orbs come in four
different sizes and are ideal for creating a focal point in the
garden. Another addition to the collection is Natural
Sandstone Edging which comes in six complementary colours.
In keeping with the natural look, Bradstone has stepped back in
time with the introduction of the hand cut Antique
Natural Sandstone. The designs retain all the characteristics
and textures found in paving of bygone years.
To build on the natural theme, Bradstone has introduced its
Natural Stone Walling range. Available in Fossil
Buff, it is versatile and easy to construct. Also in Fossil Buff
are the new Natural Sandstone Mosaics in a Straight
or Radius design. These are an ingenious solution for
building pathways, driveways or patios without the time and expense
of laying individual stones.
Natural Limestone has also been added to the
collection, in Azure, Auburn Brown and Blue-Black.
New colours have been added to already popular collections.
Vijaya Gold and Blue-Black have been incorporated into the
Natural
Slate range whilst the Natural
Travertine paving has seen the introduction of Cream, Walnut
and Rose.
The hugely successful Old Riven range has been extended for 2006 with
the addition of the Old Riven Circle (with accessories) in Autumn
Cotswold. The product allows you to create a circular paved area or
a curved path with ease. The new circle corner accessories can be
used to incorporate a circle design within the patio area.
