As its name suggests, Old Town is a classic paving modelled on a
wide variety of profiles taken from original weathered York
flagstones. Some profiles feature random toolmarks which give a
timeworn elegance. The availability of nine different sizes makes
Old Town particularly suitable for laying large areas of paving in
a truly random fashion.
One of the benefits of Old Town is its fettled edges which allow
you to use the paving as step treads or as a pier cap.
A Patio Feature Kit, containing 35 flagstones on a single
pallet, uses six sizes gives you two different random laying
options with a total area of 6.4 square metres. For larger areas
simply use extra kits. Full laying instructions are included.
The extensive Old Town range also includes the Chelsea Cobble,
Drainage Gulleys, Bullnose Coping and Circles, all of which are
mentioned below.
In addition, Random Carpet Stones, edging and walling are
available in the collection.
Old Town Circles make a perfect stand alone feature or can be
incorporated into a paved area using the Corner Accessories which
eliminates any cutting. They are available in the paving shades of
Grey-Green and Weathered Limestone with a choice of two sizes. The
circles can be customised by replacing the centre stone with
the Herb Wheel,
or using Cobbles to make a stunning water feature.
The outer circle segments are also effective as an edging to a
circular pond or as a winding path using one or two sizes. Both the
decorative Sun Circle and Ankara Circle are supplied as a full kit
with easy to follow laying instructions.
The Old Town Drainage Gulley is a useful addition to the range,
and will channel rain water.
Our Bullnose Coping has a curved profile and is designed for
creating garden steps to fit around the edge of swimming pools and
ponds.
Following its success at the Chelsea Flower Show,
Bradstone has also launched the Old Town Chelsea Cobble.
Inspired by the paving shown on the garden, this sustainable
product made from up to 85% reclaimed and recycled aggregates, has
been inspired by the volcanic rock formations found in Lanzarote.
Each slab carries an Old Town profile and resembles individual
cobbles. The paving is based on the 450 x 450 size and has
irregular edges to give the impression of a number of cobbles
placed on to one slab. The wavy edges mean the product can be
neatly placed together with the join becoming invisible once the
paving is mortared into place. Such is the flexibility of the
product, that slabs can be turned any way and still fit, with both
edge and corner pieces available.
Old Town Conservation is a paving with eco-friendly credentials
to help conserve the environment. Each slab contains up to
85% recycled and reclaimed aggregates
and comes in a brindled grey-brown shade. As befits its name, the
paving stones have the seasoned appearance of ageless natural stone
with random subtle tooled surface profiles yet retaining a fairly
even level. The random colour mix adds to its authenticity. The
Conservation shade is available in three sizes, plus a Patio
Feature Kit, to give an ample choice of laying patterns,
whether random or a more formal design is required.
