Behind the scenes at Bradstone - Lisa Bartlett

By The Secret Gardener

This week on our blog we are joined by Lisa. Lisa is our Sales Office Manager for the Domestic Contracting Team. She has been with the business for nearly 18.5 years.

What is your role at Bradstone?

I have had many roles during my time at Bradstone. Having previously worked in Bradstone and Charcon as an order controller I have managed several different sales teams within Bradstone & Charcon including manager of the customer support team for three years. I currently manage the Internal sales and admin function for Bradstone Assured my role involved managing the Bradstone Aftercare team and the consumer enquiries/ Live Chat. I currently manage 5 people whilst also keeping our national sales manager for installers in check!

The Bradstone Assured scheme is a network of approved and accredited landscapers that have been assessed on previous jobs, subjected to reference checks and scrutinised to ensure they have valid professional indemnity and insurance policies. Meaning you can always turn to a

Bradstone Assured installer with confidence, knowing they have been approved by us. You can find out more information on our assured scheme here.

What is your favourite Bradstone product?

If I would have to pick one it would be the Madera Antigua, I love how they have the effect of wooden plants but the durability of porcelain. Normally porcelain is viewed as a super modern product but I love the traditional feel the design gives. I also love the concrete carpet stones, I think they look lovely in the right setting.

Madera Antigua paving brings an authentic aged timber look but without the warping or degradation associated with real wood. It is available in a 900x150mm single sized paver and in two shades, each with subtle variations. For more information click here.

How have you adapted your role during lockdown?

I worked throughout the whole of lockdown and found it incredibly challenging. Even during lockdown, it was still extremely busy as consumers were stuck at home, unable to go on holiday and they were receiving refunds for their holidays which they were then spending on their gardens.

What has 2020 taught you?

I have been working from home since 19th March, I have converted my box room into an office so I have a better working space than the kitchen table - the plus side this meant I had to have a good sort out at home which I had been putting off for years!

To keep ourselves entertained In the evenings and on weekends, we made the most of our garden. We watched 16 seasons of Grey's Anatomy (love it!), we did jigsaws, I baked a lot, we caught up with friends all over the world on Facetime and Zoom and we helped our in-laws weekly by doing their food shopping.

I actually think it helped us to become closer to people, we really got to know our neighbours and we now have a WhatsApp group for our road. We clapped every Thursday and we would sit on our own driveways/front gardens and have a drink and chat, we had VE Day picnics, we all helped each other and managed to pick each other up when we had bad days. I truly believe they are now friends for life!

What was your favourite project of 2020?

That's a really tough one! There have truly been some beautiful projects this year but if i had to pick one it would have to be a driveway project from Winslade Landscapes. They used our Woburn Rumbled in Graphite to completely transform the property. The finishing touches they added with the lights made the whole project even more stunning!

Winslade landscapes is an Assured Installer based in Aldershot they cover Hampshire, Surrey, London, Berkshire and other surrounding areas. To find your local assured installer click here
