Summer begins in the middle of June as the days are warmer, longer and the garden is filled with colour and scent. Long days and light evenings give more time to spend in the garden.
Although this is a month of colour and flowers giving gloriously, it is also a month of hard work. Weeds are a constant and hoeing and removal will take up your time. Flower beds, borders and vegetable plots will all need your attention as well as being watered on a regular basis. New, young plants are thirsty and you will need to keep close watch on them.
