The concept
Many Georgian buildings ooze charm through the wonderful restrained use of stone, which directly inspired me to recreate this rich feel using Bradstone's Bamburgh Mill paving.

Shurbs
All bee and butterfly friendly. Plant tall shrubs at the back of the border whilst low growers such as Lavender and Cistus can be mixed at the front with the herbaceous plants.

Herbaceous perennials
Provide a rich tapestry of colour and come back year after year.

Structural plants
A range of plants provide the backbone of the garden shape. Carpinus betulus, Hornbeam is grown as a hedge; Ostrya carpinifolia is planted to provide balance of texture between the house it and the hedge.

Accessories
Just like the garden - balance your choice of accessories between elegant simplicity and individual flamboyance. Select strong stylish designs in furniture and then go to town on sumptuous floral fabrics, stripes for soft furnishings.

Bamburgh Mill
Bamburgh Mill is a paving solution that exudes traditional appeal and vintage good looks with its beautiful weathered appearance.

The paving
Elegance and simplicity are the keys to this design, so I have carefully selected the paving from Bradstone’s range which best reflects the rich patina of Georgian originals. Bamburgh Mill is used for the patio area of the garden, it creates an edging to the vibrant planted borders. It has a natural variation in shades that build on the timeless character. As a contrast, I have used a modern edging with its simple linear pattern to create a decorative band pattern around the paving.
