Paving Calculator

Whether you're looking to lay a new paved area, or refreshing an existing patio, it's essential you know the size of the area you're wanting to pave.

Our paving calculator is designed to help you calculate coverage and paving slab qualities for your outdoor installation.

How to use our paving Calculator for your project.

Measure the dimensions (length and width) of the area you want to pave. This can included multiple areas, for example, if you have an L shape area then this can be measured as two rectangles with the lengths and widths added to the calculator as two area types.
If you have a Bradstone product in mind and would like to know how much you’d need to complete your project, select a product type to see the quantity results.

FAQs

Frequently asked
paving Questions

Questions we often get asked by customers when calculating their spaces.

  • How do I calculate the area of a patio or driveway?

To calculate the area of a patio or driveway, measure the length and width and multiply the two numbers together. If your patio is 4 meters long and 3 meters wide, the area is 12 square meters.

  • How do I measure an irregularly shaped patio?

If your patio is an odd shape, divide it into regular shapes, like squares or rectangles. Then calculate the area of each shape, and add the numbers together to get to the total area.

  • Do I measure my patio in feet or meters?

We would recommend you measure the area in meters. All of our Paving is measured in metric units. Individual slab measurements are displayed in millimeters (mm), with full packs being displayed in square meters (m2). All measurements are displayed in the Technical Details section of each product page.

  • How do I determine the correct patio size needed?

Consider how the patio will be used, how many people it may need to accomodate, then measure the area. Be concious that a patio which is too small may feel cramped, but conversely a patio which is too large may lose some cosiness. Always consider the size of any patio furniture you may want to use in the area.
